I have the enclosure from a digitech rp-1000 and here is what i would like to make from it.
It has a wah so i would make that into a standard wah switch in the toe.
then i would like to put in 5 circuits which i use in my live rig. Here is why this is "different". Instead of 5 regular bypass switches i would like to do the following. have 4 or 5 switches and have any number of the 5 effects assignable to each switch.
Essentially a 4-5 multi effects board. i Picture it with 5 slider switches by each "channel" switch to select which effects go to that channel. I assume i would need to use logic chips but have no experience with them. Where is a good place to start reading?
In case you are wondering the purpose of such a pedal is i can switch sounds with a single stomp. For example lets say i am playing some clean rhythm stuff direct into the amp with no effects and i want to go from there to my lead sound. well, my lead sound is a distortion, compressor and delay. really annoying without tap dancing lessons which i currently have no time for.

You missed out on the old BC Rich Effects switcher which I have seen very little info on, but luckily I have one. It was a floor unit with 4 effect loops and programmable switches. Switch one could be no effects, switch two could be effect 1, 3 and 4. Switch 3 could be just effect 4, etc.

I believe RG Keen has a project on his page that is exactly what you're looking for.

That is almost what i want. replacing the jacks with internal wiring of course. that is really the point of this project. To have 1 big pedal to gig with. maybe even an internal power supply.
What i am not sure will work with that project is to have one effect assignable to more than one channel. That is very important to me. to have, say, a delay for distorted lead sound and clean lead souds. You get the idea.
