Hi Everyone,

I'm attempting to repair a Dunlop wah for a friend (it was fading in and out, like the power was being cut
then restored or something.  the switch was dodgey too)...i'm a bit of a novice to electronics so i'm not
sure why it getting these really harsh clipping sounds when in the heel down position (after my repair).

Here's what i did to try to fix it:  resoldered all joints underneath, replaced all caps, replaced one resistor (47k),
replaced the switch.  I tried to audio probe it but i'm new to that to, and was stumped when i couldn't hear
any signal at some points.  so now it's making this horrible clipping noise...any ideas?

cheers in advance!
phil

thought i might bump this as i'm having the exact same issue with a different wah!  could it be my 18-volt modded active EMGs (81/85)?

Could be. Are your batteries old? Maybe it's distorting because your batteries need to be changed.

good point, i'll check the voltage on em.  might even whack my pickups back to 9v to see if that makes a diff.  do you think
i might be the box (metal film?) caps i'm using?  maybe i should use jellybean (polyester?) caps instead?  i tried my good wah
(535) and i does the same thing just to a lesser extent.
