Hrm, I think I am going to have to shield the input wires after all. I didn't bother because I didn't have any, and wanted to see how noisy it'd be without it.  So.. I've seen shielding done with tinfoil, does that actually work?  Shiny side out, right?

Im working on sheilding and biasing mine now.  I have a really really bad high pitch ringing....

Weird, for me it was a snap crackle pop input.  But oddly when I fired it up a few hours ago it was perfectly silent.  (what?!)
