It's always a question of how much resistance is needed in the location. If you often can't get the right value of pots, you need to read 'the secret life of pots' at geofex--that'll tell you everything you need to know to MAKE the right value :)

However, the main thing is that you can experiment--sometimes a different value will work, sometimes it won't--it depends on the application.

A op-amp sounds better than no op-amp??

I've done that before. I spent like a half hour on something once wondering why it wasn't working. And then I saw that I forgot to put the opamp in the socket.  :icon_lol:

Can't say that I've ever done the opamp thing before. But I have plugged into the wrong amp, pickup up the wrong guitar, forgot to turn my pedalboard on, and last but not least, forgot to turn my pickup switch on! LOL
