Hello everyone! I've built a couple of simple fuzzes which have gone well and I've got a few jrc4558D's.
Anyone got any ideas for pedals using them? Any suggestions and/or links would be great.
Cheers Ross

Tube Reamer, Tube Screamer, and Orange Squeezer all use a 4558 usually. There are some others, but those three are a good place to start.

Also, you could probably build a simple opamp buffer going into something like the jFet booster. The 4558 is a dual opamp that works well in many applications for guitar pedals. So does the Tl072 I've come to understand, and some others also.

4558 = DOD 308 and Orange Squeezer. Yeah the TS use one, but I HATE TS...
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

The Ti RC4558 is great. Different from the JRC4558 that most people have.

i am what i am, so are you.

its an opamp, the vast majority of circuits do use opamps

Virtually ANYTHING that uses op-amps.  The 4558 is NOT a "special function" chip.  It is as mundane a workhorse chip as you can find.  So, for some of us here, asking "What can I build with a 4558?" is a bit like asking "What can I build with 10k resistors?".

Don't worry about "wasting" the chips on anything.  There is nothing critical about them, and nothing you build will be a waste of anything other than maybe your time (if you don't like the resulting pedal).  They're quite plentiful and cheap.  Build away.

If I had to pick one I like the ROG Mockman II.  A great sound from a simple circuit.
