My Effects Switcher is making an awful racket......

I tried building this:


But that 4PDT switch is nowhere to be found, so I used the "2 rows of 6" 4PDT switch from Small Bear.
My layout looks like this:

My test run was with a Bassballs & a Rat. It handles the envelope filter fine, but it does not like distortion! The Bassballs distortion toggle creates a very high pitched chirping sound, and the Rat creates a steady stream of feedback.

Is my altered diagram correct? Or did I mix something up?

If the diagram is correct, would it be a grounding issue?

Any help thrown my way would be most appreciated!
