adding a "DECAY" control to a Paia gator

I have seen on some ADSR-type circuits that the ATTACK and DECAY controls are very similar with just the diode facing the opposite direction. Can I implement something like this to the Paia Gator circuit to get really short, plucky sounding decay?

In principle, that would likely be a variable resistance in parallel with C8.
