Little help?

CA3086: http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn483.pdf

NTE912: http://www.nteinc.com/specs/900to999/pdf/nte912.pdf

Both are 5-transistor arrays. The CA3086 datasheet uses schematic symbols to demonstrate the pinout. The NTE912 uses Vin, Vout, etc. I understand the CA3086 sheet but I'm not familiar with the NTE912's terminology. Logically, it would seem to me that Collector=Vin, Base=Vin, & Emitter=Vout. Is that how it goes?

My local shop told me these two ICs are pin-for-pin equivalent. Are they?

Oh Man !, I got excited for a second there until I remembered I need 3094's.

NTE's thing is matching parts, so their 912 will do the job. The NTE912 also matches the CA3046, so maybe you could use a 3046 as well.

Swollen Pickle?

Nope, my Pickle is fine thanks.  ;D

I'm repairing an '80s APR synthesizer. Thanks for the help. Problem must be somewhere else.

Ok, so back to the other part of my original question:

When I'm looking at the datasheet for a transistor with legs C, B, & E, which are Vins and which are Vouts? Can someone clear this up for me?
