I just got confirmation about ZVEX schematics

So where can I see a schematic for the Fuzz Factory?  Cool!!

Did you ever hear about google ?  Sometimes it can be your friend:

Yes, but I've heard (on this forum) that there are bogus schematics floating around and figured that the people here would be able to post the one "correct" schematic.

The Fuzz Factory vero layout I posted is verified, if that helps you somehow...

$50 a weekend, I could tell you stories about when I went to college. Let me put it this way.... yeah Snickers does satisfy!
no lie! im packing my water bottle and snickers for my 5 minute walk (lunch) between business communications and physics right now!

Some of Zach's pedals have sequenced LED lights for manual or automatic sequencing.  I always wondered if he used 4017 decade counter IC's.  Does anyone know or has a schem of how he achieved this?

This one I have used

This one is on my drawing board. You can put a LED in series with the 100K resistor as well.

The only bad sounding stomp box is an unbuilt stomp box. ;-)

Just beware of the schematics floating around out there, some of them are wrong. I remember seeing Z Vex replying to Fuzz Factory schematic threads over at Ampage like 7-8 years ago. He usually said stuff like "another mangled schematic" and things of that sort about these schematics.

I did build a Fuzz Factory clone for fun a while ago, but it was off of a now defunct French website that looked like it just straight out copied the PCB in the real Fuzz Factory. Anyway, it definitely works just like the real one, as long as you get the transistors right (correct Hfe, etc.)

It's a VERY simple matter to replace the oscillator in this schematic (or any of Zvex's other "sequenced" products) with a tap tempo chip.

Take a look at the schematic on this page in Application Note 1:
http://www.moltenvoltage.com/molten_voltage_mv-52.html

Just take out all the parts that feed into pin 14 and replace them with the parts on the App Note schematic.

One IMPORTANT thing is that MV-52 runs off 5 volts, so you will need a separate voltage regulator for it.

Well, that is a surprise (about lifting the restriction).  :icon_razz:
Not for me, it isn't.

For a long time, Zach relied on the Fuzz Factory to be his "cash cow" that would subsidize the other less-populist experiments (and let's face it, the Seek-trem and Fuzz-probe were not exactly outselling the Boss Heavy Metal HM-2).  Understandably, and especially after an unpleasant counterfeiting incident in Japan, he was eager to protect the design and squeeze as much mileage out of it as possible.

At this point, the horse has left the barn, and Zach appears to have decided to go one step beyond, rather than fight an old fight.  The Invent-O-Box goes beyond the individual circuits, and instead of depending on a simple-but-unique (though ultimately unprotectable) circuit, he has opted for I-want-the-convenience-rather-than-the-circuit.  So, with a shift in business strategy, the fierce protection became unnecessary.

I guess that makes sense, the way that you present it.

I'm gone for a few weeks and the walls come crashing down!!!!   Kudos Zach, you've got my respect FWIW.
