I finished a GGG BMP last week and it works great but the LED doesn't light up at all.  Everything else works: All controls, footswitch, battery powers the unit, power supply powers unit properly, etc... I have tried using a different led to no avail.  I followed the wiring diagram on GGG to the "T".  I've re-checked my work too many times to count.  It annoys me that this is the only part that isn't working.   With everything else working properly what could possibly be wrong?

Uhhhhh, never mind.
Having never used LED's before I didn't realize that they had to be wired directionally.
I got it working.

cool.  did you know that you can make the led brighter or dimmer, with a lower value (say 330 Ohms) or higher value (say 4.7K) respectively.  I'm pretty sure that's how it goes anyway, anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.   :)

SO, do you mean to use a higher valued LED to make it brighter and lower value to make it more dim?  Or are you talking about the resistor that's wired in series with the LED on my BMP?

Sorry I should have said, I'm talking about the resistor that's wired in series with your display LED, and i'm pretty sure it's on the positive side of the led (the Anode).  that's the one that dims or brightens if you raise or lower the value of the led, respectivly.  Raise value = dimmer, lower value = brighter.    hope that makes sense  :)

just found this handy link:  http://elecrom.wordpress.com/2008/03/02/anode-and-cathode-of-led/
