dead maestro PS1 phaser

hi
i have aquired a maestro ps1 phaser,but it only works in bypass.when you turn the effect on no sound comes out of the amp.
i have had a look inside and none of the components look burnt out etc....
also the rocker switch for power on/off is missing the plastic rocker,but the mechanical part of the switch is intact (and can be switched on/off with the lid of a biro) so this will need to be replaced too.
i have seen inside a couple of other units on ebay listings and the wiring is slightly different to mine,but i don't know if this is because they are ps1-a or ps1-b's with possible board revisions.
i would really like to get this unit working again.so if anyone could give me some pointers on where to start that'd be great.

Check your voltages first.  I forget the actual value, but I believe you should have +9 and -9 on the op-amps.
