Okay I have been pretty stocked up.   But yesterday I went to Howard Electronics to look for something and low and behold they were gone.   Grant it, I haven't been in there in about 1.5 yrs.   If they closed down, any other options in Austin.   Thanks.

A couple of forum members mentioned they were going down because the place was closing.  Apparently, the gentleman that owned the place had some health issues.  Sounds like it was a cool place.
Try a little tenderness.

Yeah the guy who owned it was always in the back room in a cloud of smoke.  Just looking for a replacement.  Very sad and distraught that I might have to order stuff.    :'(

Apologies, the search is my friend.  Wish I had known they were closing the first of the year.

Mel the owner had a bout of cancer that really wiped him out. I talked to him a bit and he basically said he just felt old and tired. I stocked up on a whole lotta goodies at the beginning of January and he gave me a fantastic deal. It's very sad. There's no other place quite like it.

Worst part is he was selling the place for only 40k. I don't know if the deal went through, or what the new owner may have in store for it. There are probably 1M+ parts in that store.
