help with fuzz schematic

hello, i'm still learning how to read different parts of schematics. was just wondering if someone could tell me what the input path at the front of this circuit means:

what do the lines going to no where in between the input caps mean? i'm sure this is very simple and no-brainer, just haven't seen this yet in a simple fuzz circuit.

It's a switch to bypass the .0047 cap.
Doesn't seem like that would do too much though honestly.
A big cap and a small cap in series isn't that different when bypassed.

ah, that makes sense. maybe if the larger cap was the one taken in/out of the path it would make more sense. thanks much!

john, wouldn't the .0047 effectively cut all but the highs when switched in? never thought of doing input tone control this way, but in theory it should work.

looks like a fun circuit. i think i will breadboard it to see what can be done with it. i am a sucker for diodes to ground after some heavy gain.

Yeah, your right. I was just looking at it as two caps dividing...
but since the small cap is first it is a hi/low switch really.
