I'm wondering why there is no compressor/expander here? Even with this wonderful single BBD design that is!! The compressor/expander could be used to compress and not expand with a 1:2 ratio. This would allow for the echotrail  to be extended much more and even would emphasis sustain of the guitar. Just tricks.... ;)

BBD MN3005 has a good dynamic range (S/N ~= 75dB). With the right supply voltage (15V), the maximum level of input signal Vi >= 1V. Actually this value even more to ~1,4V.  I deliberately refused to use compressor/expander (compander?) – it "замыливает" sound (don't know how to say it in English). But applied the regulator input level (P1 on my diagram) and a peak level indicator (OP1b and LED1). Remember, as in old tapes? This proved to be very convenient.
A similar decision I am using in my rever on BBD MN3011. Only in peak indicator I applied green-red LED. Was very well – at a normal level of input signal indicator lights green, while increasing the level above the maximum color indicator becomes first yellow then red.

If someone wants to try this project, can share a PCB in the Sprint-layout 5.0.
