BSIAB 2 looking for a perflayout, and transistor subs?

I'm not sure mosfets will work with this circuit.  Xavier has a perf layout for it.  Pinouts flat side facing you with pins pointing down for [J201(DSG)]  [BS170 Fairchild (DGS)] [BS170 Zetex (SGD)] [2N7000 search datasheet] so keep that in mind when using the layout.  IMHO if you have 5457's or even MPF102's would work better than mosfets in this pedal.  I used a combination of MPF's and 201's in mine.

I have 2-2n7000s
4-bs170s
and 6-j201s

Anybody use these in the bsiab and have successful results? Does this just affect gain?

I lied I believe my j201s are j201 fairchilds, what is the difference? Lol

For a perf layout go to Xaviers post in the layout gallery in this forum at the top right of this site at page 7.  I used Xaviers layouts for both the BSIAB2 and Dr. Boogey builds.  They are verified and work.   The Fairchild (Fairchild is just the manufacturer) or whichever 201's you have will work fine.  Use sockets for the transistors so if it's too high gain so you can try others.  The 201's you have will have the pin configuation as I stated in my above post.  Using the 201's you can install them to the layout no changes.
I originally used all j201's at first. The tone IMHO is best with those.  I only changed two of them to MPF102's because it was too noisy with my single coil pickups.  With my humbuckers I liked all 201's better.  It's a matter of opinion so you may like it.
