Broken trace or short to ground in that area?

made the board myself, but have soldered and re-soldered so much that I think it will be easier to just etch a new PCB and repopulate with fresh components!

This RAT has been hassle from day one  :icon_cry:

Hey Peps, do you wanna send it to me and see if I can breathe some life into it?

That would have been a good plan, But just stripped the board down and chucked it!!!!

Etching a new one now, and if that's as much trouble expect a package and begging letter  ;D

Haha, alrighty then, remember to stick a pre-paid return jiffy bag inside with it  :icon_mrgreen:

Good luck this time round though!

I'm impressed by the patience and persistence Peps. I usually let the pedals I should debug pile up. Once in a while I get to one, and it's usually a stupid easy fix. Right now I have two, one which I have no idea about how to fix (but I had an idea about it this morning) and another I'm pretty sure I need to reorder the PTAP board I've screwed up.

Hope the second version goes better.
