runoffgroove odie wont work

hi
i have a problem with odie i build the other  day. its working but the output signal is really low and there isn't any gain

i changed the R4 to 1.5k
and gain pot to 100k

V on the jfets are (battery 8V)

S-0.27
G-0

Q2
D-8
S-0.22
G-0

trimpots set to max

1) Are you sure that the FETs are in the right way around?
2) It looks like this one has trimpots to set the bias; they might need to be adjusted.

To understand the circuit better, a link to an actual schematic instead of a layout would be helpful!   I don't see the "Odie" at the ROG website, so can't say much more right now, other than that you don't have any voltage at the gates of your FETs.

An 8v battery is actually pretty dead.  I doubt it's the main problem in this case, but you might want to try again with a fresh one.
