I'd quite like to build a flanger as my next project, and I'm looking at the Tonepad Electric Mistress layout at the moment.  Just the 9V one, not the deluxe.

First off, the tonepad layout is unverified and there are no build reports on the site; has anyone built this and can confirm it works?  Link: http://www.tonepad.com/project.asp?id=54

I'm a little confused by the switching on that diagram.  There is a DPDT switch labelled flanger/filter matrix and there is also a SPDT switch shown at the output jack.  I presume that this is supposed to be two separate switches, and not a 3PDT?  If so, is the SPDT switch the effect on/off and is the DPDT a "mode" switch?

Sorry for what probably seems like a stupid question.

This is what you want/need:

The wiring diagram is pretty self explanatory.
In case you want to save your SAD1024:

Just to don't open a new topic on the same subject:
I want to build one of this 9V Electric Mistress and I've found out a SAD1024 available at a shop nearby (quite expensive though: €42,00). MN3700 is also available at a much smaller cost (around €8,00). Will is make any big difference? I know that the SAD is the original one but will cost me a lot more (over 5 times!) than the MN and if the tone difference is nothing it will be silly to go for the SAD. Can anybody help me out?
