Maybe a long shot.. I'm looking for a circuit that could be used mainly as an experiment with overdrive tones.

pre clipping tone section (with knobs)
soft diode clipping
post clipping tone section (with knobs)
volume and gain (feedback) knobs

maybe something more like variable electrolytic for the filtering (if that's possible?)
switches for clipping stage, diodes / LED clipping etc

Does anyone know of a circuit that has features like this?
If not, anyone feel like making one? :)

you could set up some opamps one with a tonestack (pre clip) and sockets for caps, another opamp with sockets for diode combos (hard clip)or diode resistor combos(soft clipping) and one last opamp with another tone stack thing...
then you've got some tone shaping going in, a clipping section to pop in different clippers, and a final tone shaping stage.
i wouldn't be surprised if you came up with a schem of this type setup if you did a thourough search here.after all, everyone who's modded anything has probably had a similar desire for a 'clipping lab' of sorts.
