Resistor Value Help

Hi, I'm getting parts together to mod my ole' cheapo Boss DS - 1 from the website below and I cannot find two resistors in the specific value mentioned.

They are:

2.4K and 20K

I can find a 2.2K at Radio Shack. Is that close enough to the 2.4K? Is there any other values that I can substitute for the two above mentioned resistors?

For these mods you will need:


0.1uF Capacitor x 5
1uF Capacitor x 4 (or two 0.47uF caps in parallel, it should give the same results)
0.047uF Capacitor x 1
3mm LED x 1 (I bought two so I didn't have to use the one that you take out of the DS-1)
on/on SPDT switch
2.4k Resistor x 1
20k Resistor x 1
1.5k Resistor x 1
220pf Cap x 1
47pf Cap x 1

It much more common to find 20K & 2.4K as metal film resistor.

If you cant find any, go with 2.2K & 22k Carbon Film 5% (as they have a 5% value tolerance you should be fine, and can even use your DMM to pick the best one from a batch)
