wow first post!
Ok I found myself a sweet Ram's Head Big Muff at a yard sale and it works perfect and sounds great!
Only problem is the pots have broken stems!!!  and they are the old plastic ones yikes?
Anyone know a repair for these I'd like to keep the pots original since they do work ok they just need stems to attach the knobs.
Check out these pics and advice appreciated!

Sorry I don't have any advice on the fix for you, but NICE FIND!

thanks I guess I was lucky, I didn't think it would work at all by the sight of it.  But sounds great!
I guess if someone could recommend replacement pots I could go that route.

Holy cow that's genius!  Thanks EH MAN!
So the shaft comes out of the pot?  What's holding it in there?

It's held in by the casing.  You just bend the 4 tabs on the top back, pull the casing off, and the shaft will fall out.  Take the old one out the same way and put the new one in.
Just be careful with the resistive track.

Great thanks so much I'll give that a try.  Stay tuned, I have a vintage Polyphase that is a little strange... I'll start a new thread with that but I would love your input!

I don't know how to help you, but I'd like to ask you a gutshot of the unit. I'm so so jealous about your find!!  :icon_evil:

Yeah I saw one go for a little over 300$ the other day on Ebay.
It was in nice shape but still 300$ for a BMP  ::)

Do you mean $663?  Is mine from the same year or close?

that $663 big muff was in collector condition, including original box. nonetheless, you made an excellent buy. definitely worth repairing 100% correctly to maintain value. be very thorough and careful in your work.

gut shot? here is one from above mentioned auction

lousy cardboard box and a few less scratches and it's $660 huh.  Geez my Polyphase looks like a rust bomb hit it but it works pretty good!

No the one I was talking about was not in that good of shape and had no box.
It was probably middle of the road between your yard sale pedal and that mint collector version.

don't take this the wrong way. the 'lousy' cardboard box would probably sell for 100 bucks by itself.

So how much did it cost you? Did you haggle?
