Hi there,
I'm a german noob who thought that it could't be so difficult to built a neovibe and now I'm have to face that it is... So here is the problem:
When I put current on the neovibe (at the moment I'm using two 9V batteries) the bulb illuminate but does not start blinking (as it should???). The currious thing is that this happens while the effect isn't engaged. When I turn it on, the bulb still flashes but there is no signal comming through (turning the pots doesn't make a difference to the signal or the bulb)!!! Could anyone be so kind the help me or maybe someone has had the same problem? Is it still allright to solder C16 in reverse position?

I did no modification accept the volume mod (as described in R.G. Keens building report, which is simply great thank you R.G.).  I use 2N3904 and 2N5088 transistors and 7815 as linar voltage regulators. As bulb I use a 12V25W thing. For TR1 I use a 500ohm trimpot. All pots are as described in the geofex building report accept the depth pot which is not a 50k lin but a 50k log pot. Below I'll post some fotos of the piece (hope you cold download them): http://rapidshare.com/files/383493143/Univibe.rar.html.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Best regards

Hi,

the neovibe can be challenging especially if you have not build many effects before. However, many have build it with great success.

I have had a quick look at the pics. Some of the solder joints don't look to healthy, but I cannot tell from the pics if that is the issue.

Best you can do is read this post and fill out the details and post it here:

Good luck!

Hi again,

sorry for my stupidity: I should read the debugging site first :icon_redface:. Okay now I've made the measuring of the transistors. Here it is: Batterie current before the measurement: 9,46V und 9,49V. Meter was set to 20Vdc:

Transistor
Q1 2N3904 E=3,72 B= 0 C=10,66

Q2 2N3904 E=0  B=3,54 C= 4,86

Q3 2N3904 E=10,3 B=10,81 C=10,13

Q4 2N5088 E=10,71 B=3,44 C=3

Q5 2N5088 E=8,06 B=0 C=2,43

Q6 2N5088 E=10,44 B=3,35 C=2,93

Q7 2N5088 E=7,88 B=2,9 C=2,38

Q8 2N5088 E=10,22 B=3,25 C=3,25

Q9 2N5088 E=7,7 B=2,84 C=2,36

Q10 2N5088 E=10,01 B=3,84 C=3,22

Q11 2N5088 E=11,51 B=2,1 C=6,19

Q12 2N5088 E=11,47 B=6,17 C=5,6

Q13 7815 I=0,72 G=1,41 O=0,8

G 7815 I=9,8 G=0 O=11,37

I don't know if it matters, but Q10 became quit hot during the measurement...

I hope this test readings will help... Thanks a lot for your help!!!
