Fuzz Factory Clone not working

i just finished building a fuzz factory clone, but it doesn't seem to work properly.
It sounds ok, but won't do any feedback. As soon as the guitar level goes down, it stutters a bit and then stops sounding, as if a huge noise gate is in. I experience this with gate and comp at 0, and if i raise the gate it is more evident (the "gating" comes in earlier).
Could you give any hint about what could be wrong?
