I was wondering if it was normal for the mix knob to be noisy on this pedal? The noise becomes really present about a quarter of the way up or 9'oclock. From there it get worse and maxed out it's horrible. I did wire this with two output jacks to be able to run it fully wet but with the noise it's useless. Any suggestions?

Also, what would could be done to make the repeats a touch darker?

Thanks for the help guys.

Do you mean the Level pot, the echo base doesn't have a mix pot, unless you've modified it. What sort noise of is it? It's normal to get a little bit of clock noise from the PT2399 but only when the level is at about 3 o'clock. It's possible the PT2399 is bad, there have been a few reports of noisy builds that have been solved by swapping the PT2399.
There's a load of debugging information here http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=60662.msg498824#msg498824

Yes I have the level labled mix because I did the mod with to output jacks to allow kill dry and run wet only. The noise sounds like white noise. It's apparent a 9 and up. Maybe I should check out another chip but I don't think that's the case.

Anyone know a mod to make the repeats a little darker. I'm sure it's a simple resistor change.

How have you done the wet only mod? maybe that is causing the problem. There shouldn't be any white noise from the PT2399, there is a little bit of noise at the longest delay time but shorter times should be clean. The original version of the pedal has a bit of hiss but that isn't affected by the setting of the Level pot it's there all the time.

To make the repeats darker make the 15 cap before the feedback pot bigger.
