Hi!

I have a Crybaby and I wonder if it works only with an AC adapter, or can I use a DC as well?

AC'll fry it, 60cycle hum is what AC sounds like anyway.
DC of correct polarity and voltage, if regulated can be almost as good as a battery for wahs. My CB has a 9vdc jack, I use it.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I found a manual here: http://www.jimdunlop.com/files/1145592348_gcb95_manual.pdf First it says AC, then DC and also the polarity. Ok, I'll use a DC adapter then, thanks!

What they mean is a "wall wart" that converts AC to 9V DC. Sometimes they are referred to as an "AC adapter".

Don't most wahs also need an isolated power supply?.  I believe that was so in the past.  I always use a battery in mine (I only have one wah that has a power jack, and I don't really use that one much).
