Pics of my first build, red llama

This is my first custom pedal, I built two of them: one for a friend and one for me.  They're named for a live show we were in this summer called "Rock On".  I kept the one with the poor drilling (I mis-aligned the foot switch hole, and the input/output jacks are way off center.  What the heck was I doing with that drill press??)

The circuit is Gauss Markov's Red Llama, I love it.  The face plate is laser cut stainless steel (I'm lucky to work for a company that has a 1000W laser cutter!)





Making these was a lot of fun, I'm thinking of building a compressor or a fuzzbox next.

Nice job! Like the face plate. Came out really nice. You should try putting plexie glass with an LED under the face plate. That way when you turn on the pedal, the lettering  lights up. Always wanted to do that. Welcome to the forum and hope to see more builds

Thanks!  I built a Dance Dance Revolution pad like that.  The arrows were stainless steel with a layer of plexiglass over top, and each pad had 16 super bright jumbo LEDs underneath.  It looked fantastic.

This looks like a fairly tall pedal as far as thickness goes.  Was this done because you could put the circuit board entirely below the pots or just because that was the size available?

The "In" jack plate is great.  I wish I could buy something like that, as labeling things on the sides of pedals is often overlooked.

Nice idea here - If I had a TRUMPF laser cutter, I would do the same, but...

The suggestion of the underneath lighted plexi is good, but you will need to "unpolish" the upper face of the plexi to light the engraved windows, or only the edges of the plexi will be lighted, like on the following picture :
