I have to be more patient with the ironing....there are a ton of avoidable imperfections here but i cant bring myself to trash it......I think that's the kind of knobs imma use for it...A buck goes to the first person who identifies the young lady there....

Absolutely love this. Really like the idea of an unpainted reverse etch. My hat is very much doffed to you matey :)

Nice one Tom, cheers! It was a bit of a happy accident after I went at it with a brillo pad, was intending to paint the recessed bits but thought it looked cool au naturel so just whacked on some clear coat and left it at that :)

I over cooked the etch this time, but still looks ok from stomping height  ;D

Sprayed it creme and then filled in the etch with a fine-point molotov pen, and carefully sanded away any edge-spills..

Cool looking end result man, must have been fiddly to do though! Don't think I have the patience! ;)

Ahhhhh, clever guy. I'm gonna put my posca pens to use. A decent layer of clear coat and it's gonna be a pretty good result.

How's those pens compared to Posca? If you've tried both...

I haven't tried them sorry. I noticed that in the big areas it can crackle a little as it dries out, if I did it again I'd keep the etches fairly narrow, but not too narrow, and use a san-serif font ;)

I looked it up, both are water-based acrylic ink, I haven't done anything therribly impressive, as in drawn anything approaching Zvex style enclosures or such,
http://mydiypedals.tumblr.com/post/64973214112/had-to-make-zvex-sho-i-made-look-a-bit-less-boring is an example with just one color. It definitely can crack up,
but clear coated it stays atleast.

Now I'm like, "Must....Make...Enclosure"; haven't had a good idea for one for a while.

Serif fonts are hard! I do the same thing with extra fine and fine Sharpie oil markers. The surface tension of oil paint makes it easier; less flows over the edge. Like when you pour beer into a glass to the point where the head foams over the rim but doesn't spill.

Looks good Smurfski!
