Rasterizing is brilliant, no more worrying so much about those tiny errant etch holes! Not that finding an excuse to be sloppy is what I'm looking for...  ::)

@liquitone
I like the blue one.

@Chad
I have to experiment with the exposure time and the acid. The acid has to be not so strong but strong enought to etch quick, so that the photoresist spray will stay and the "holes" will stay.
I think it will be easy  :icon_mrgreen:

Like a boss.  You go Maik!  The first stomp on that pedal will transport the user directly to an enchanted forest nightmare.

CHAD

*edit: make sure to highlight the hobgoblin-yeti just enough to terrorize  ;)

Arcane Analog

That is certainly doable, Maik. No reason you cannot knock that out.

Maik

God point Chad. Will do it.

It´s a little bit like "yes we can" :icon_mrgreen:

Damn, just saw this.... WOW!!! I can't etch an enclosure for nuthin :icon_sad: How do you like the tight metal?? I love mine but I have made a few addons and changes.
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

Maik

@JOK3RX
Thanks!
Don´t know it jet, have to make the wiring on monday and then I will see! But I think I will love it. Will do a demo with Two Notes WOS then...

edit: What kind of booster do you use? Is it before or after tight metal?

guitarmageddon

@ Maik, that full face maze etch is incredible.

The "Lullavibe" for my mate Matt. (one of his projects is "Space Cadet Lullabies")

Has taken me months to complete it, sourcing the parts, wiring it up, tweaking etc. but finished now and it's my favourite Univibe build so far.
It's a modified Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe.

Matt wanted Neil Armstrong on it, a challenging etch, but I think it came out pretty well.

Wow, that's exceptionally cool, bravo!

Wow, that´s cool!
Is it all done with paper and ironing?

Dude, that is an awesome etch! Can I ask how you achieved it in terms of the photo, is it a vector trace or some Photoshop threshold type hijinx? Or neither?

Opens up a whole new world of cool being able to do photos! :)

guitarmageddon

Thanks Hex.
It's not vector, the image was pulled straight off the internet. it was fairly hi res though.
There's no great secret, I do tweak the contrast and gamma in my pentax camera photo editing software (ACDC) sometimes, but really my brother laser printer does all the work. I noticed it does greys with a dot matrix, so I just try to preserve them in the etch.
I've been experimenting with this for a while, but my main tips are; don't over etch, know your acid and carefully monitor the cut. I use a bare fingertip to feel the progress...that finger is a lot smoother than the others now though... :icon_lol:

You can do it with photoshop (Filter-Raster, and then playing with contrast to give it a harder black-white) or rasterbator or Photoline.
Check out rasterbator.net or pl32.com. Both are free...

nice idea with the fingersmoothie :icon_mrgreen:

TG Flatline

@ guitarmageddon - that is ace dude. I like the etch, the layout, the styling. Proper mint!!!
