Hi.

Some works in progress. They get cleaner but I still have hard times getting deep enough etch before the Naoh begins to eat the toner.

Hi Lars, I was wondering if you'd be willing or if you have guts shots of those boxes? I have the same kind I believe, and I'm having a bit of trouble getting the jacks and controls so close together. Or perhaps you can just tell me where you get those wonderful jacks. :)

Sure. Unfortunately I gave the Fuzz away without taking any gutshots (the layout was for a 1590a, so there was a lot of wiring going on), but I found one of the envelope filter.

The jacks are Lumbergs, I buy them here:

It is always a bit crammy, so be sure to have your Dremel ready to make the jacks fit!

Best regards, Lars

+1 for Lumberg jacks. The most jack in the minimum space!

I've got a few in a bag waiting for the perfect moment, but it hasn't arrived thus far, but I know it will come! ;)

I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad

LOL!  Note piece of solder slag under pin 5 of the OPAMP.  Obviously the camera sees far better than me!

Fixed.

My first attempt to fill an etched area with glitter paint. Still a ways to go before I improve this process.

Guys,

How do you add contrast on your etchings?

I use the electrolytic method since it is easy and I do not need special ingredients.
But after cleaning there is barely any color difference in the design, any tips or tricks?

I tried this one with spraying black paint on it an whipe it off when still wet,
After a few coats it started to look ok.
I'm looking for an easier way.

deadastronaut

I spray Matt black into the etch....Let dry then re sand off the excess......removes the paint and gives the box a final buff.

Mask off any places you dont want paint on to save a bit of sanding later..

indeed a good way to do.

This one has been etched with a vinyl mask, then sprayed with matte black and a light coat of gold, all with the mask still on.
When dry, brushed it with steel wool. I'm pretty satisfied with the result

deadastronaut

yeah, came out cool man.  8)
