My 5th etch and 4th pedal...

Great etch. I have a brother laser printer too. Works great with P'n'P blue. You have just inspired me to attempt an etch on an enclosure.

Thanks for the great feedback!

One thing that really helped me with the deep etch is heating up the etchant to speed up the process.. it is cold at the moment near Toronto so I put the etchant bath (old salad container) in a bigger tupperware container filled with water around 80 degrees celcius. The etch above took 10 minutes.

I'm still having issues with some of the thinner strokes. After the ironing, there is a layer of glue or something over the thinner areas to be etched.. I am having troubles removing it on the thinner lines before placing it in the bath even after soaking in water for a few minutes. The acid takes a few extra minutes to remove this layer and by then the other parts are already deeply etched. I suppose covering the rest up with tape while waiting would work.

It might be the paper (I'm using blank glossy magazine paper from staples.ca) So this weekend I'm picking up some cheap *inkjet* photo paper like ruz suggests in his tutorial..

My latest build a Death by Audio Supersonic Fuzz Gun clone.

Still not completely happy with the etch, I'm thinking it's because of the poor toner in my printer.

+1 I like the big lamp jewel.
I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad

Awesome etches guys!

Here's probably my last acid etch for a while. It's not complete yet , hopefully soon. Fighting a cold now and have a bunch of projects around the house I need to finish.
