SAD1024 - List of vintage pedals that use it

I really want to get an SAD1024 chip but am not about to pay $79.95 + shipping - the current ebay price.

So the plan is to get a vintage pedal, pull the chip and put in a socket so I can try some other designs, but still use the original pedal.

Here are the vintage pedals I am pretty sure use it:

- EHX Electric Mistress
- Ross Flanger
- MXR Analog Delay - but NOT the M-118 version, I am pretty sure it was called M-117

anyone else know of other pedals that definitely use this chip?

the ehx polychorus, mxr flanger and mutron flanger also use it. 

i think you'll find that you could have a hard time finding a used pedal w/ that chip for less than the going price of the chip.  i know because i tried; ended up buying the chips themselves.

let me know if you don't have any luck as my seller might have a few left.

A while back I almost bid on a Ross Delay which I think had three SAD1024As in it.  The price ended up over my budget.  

Although I have one in my A/DA flanger clone, and it sounds great, I agree that it makes more sense to retrofit an MN3007 for any new builds.  Plus the MN3007 has a bit more headroom.  On a side note, I thought I might have killed it the other night when I was making adjustments.  Scary thought!  Did accidentally kill the op amp following the BBD though.

It's a shame to rob the chip from another pedal.  If it's for a DIY project why not use the MN3007 adapter?

Not planning to "rob" it, just "share" it with another pedal.

The reason I want the original is that I want to hear how this fabled chip sounds, and also there are some layouts already around for it.

Do you have a link for this MN3007 adapter?  Is it a separate PCB?

As for the sound, it may depend on the application.  The SAD1024A is probably one of the best chips for flangers due to its wide delay range and extended bandwidth.  However, CMOS clocking/buffering will get an MN3007 up to practically the same level of performance.  For chorus/delay, other chips make more sense.

There are several incarnations of the MN3007 retrofit.
Depends what pedal you are "borrowing" the SAD1024 from.
And what pedal you plan to "share" it with.
Search for the A/DA 3007 retrofit thread and the EHX/EM 3007 retrofit thread.

The SAD512D (used in the MXR Micro-Chorus and others) is impossible to find.  The SAD512 is a little easier.  It's basically an SAD1024 with just one working section.  You're supposed to hook the 2 sections in parallel when using it.

I have been looking for a schematic for the Micro Chorus for quite a while, does anyone have a link to the schematic? I thought I remember seeing it on the web several years back, but recent searches have not been fruitful.

I have to search for it somewhere 'cause I had to revise it, since that pictured there was a prototype, featuring two options: with or without the tranny.. (I opted for "with the tranny")
