Buffer a wet blanket?

Hey there everyone. I've built a few different buffers, but never this one until last night: http://www.buildyourownclone.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=18652

Usually buffers work really well for me, I've built some that sound quite good. However, I built this thing and it sounds like I threw a wet blanket all over my signal. It sounds MUCH MUCH better without the buffer, not just a little bit better or a little bit worse which is what I expected. Anyone have any ideas why this may be? I tried two different input caps - a 0.01uF and a 0.1uF, and the caps I'm using are 10k's.

What values did you use for the resistors? The input impedance is the parallel value of R1 and R2 so if you use 10k resistors that's 5k, which will load your pickups down and tone suck like crazy.

Sub the 10k resistors with 1M's.

Thanks guys. I'll make it happen.
