Replacing PCB mounted closed jacks with open jacks?

I've got a Green Sovtek Muff with the cheapo board mounted closed jacks. I  know you can just replace them with better quality and flip the PCB, but I don't want to go that route. I've got plenty of open jacks, and I want to use them. I also plan to re-mount the board inside the enclosure so there's no stress on the jacks.

What is the procedure here? Do I just remove the board mounted jacks, and run wires to the corresponding parts to the open jack? Do I just ignore the "un-used" mounting holes from the board mounted jacks?

Or is there more here than meets the eye?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I can answer my own question here. After some trial and error, I got it going.

If anyone needs help with this in the future, feel free to PM me.
