Have a project that calls for any "low-gain NPN bipolar junction transistor."

Can someone please give me some examples?

what kind of project are you working on?

I got a hold of a junked Shin-ei Fuzz Wah and I want to refurb it. It will look nothing like the original when I am done but the pedal is in pretty bad shape and, well.... it is a wah pedal shell that can be used!

Anyway, I found the Shin-ei fuzz layout over at GGG and it calls for "low gain NPN bipolar junction transistors" and I wanted to consult the pros on here to find out which transistors would work best.

Thinking about changing out the wah portion for the modable wah from GGG as well and using a Yellow Fasel and "stack of dimes" Cry baby inductor and re-using the fuzz pitch selector slide to switch between them.

ANY OTHER IDEAS FROM THE MASSES??
