  Thinnkin of...
Putting LED's in my 'new' drums. ie...I pulled the countertop/ribbon of plastic they were wrapped up in and refinished them...WOW whata difference unwrapping them properly makes, visually, accoustically.
I want the battery outside, the switch and the LED's of course inside, and so when say the bass drums moves to 'tilt' excursion, the lights do something.
That and/or output plug for each drums analog source, depending on...what it depends on [how well the prototype turns out].
So...might not be a tilt switch for the LEDs, perhaps a circuit [buffer split or other input treatment] that takes the analog pulse of X amount to trigger an electronic pulse [let loose from power supply of probably 9v]...ie wire the source to control an LED on trigger.
Any helps or suggestions welcome, switch, circuit...should be simple as possible.

If you can get a hold of an old discarded home thermostat, there's a mercury switch in there that would make a fine tilt switch--that's what it is, a little sealed bulb with two wire ends and a blob of mercury to close the contact. Be careful to encase it securely, though--you don't want that stuff escaping.

yupp very reliable, lookin' for the merc switches anyway...also available in certain older model automobile trunk lids, I made a gooseneck auto-on dash mounted map light out of one of them, very nice.

If I understand correctly, couldn't you use piezo pick-ups as a trigger, or have I missed the point?
