its the neck pickup...using an ibanez rg470..and a korg ax1500g....straight into a mixer!..

nice sound..but it always has to have a noise gate on, which i never like using, its a pain when you want a long decay etc....

while you're choosing which amp to build (it may take a while  ) look for the Condor Cab Simulator at Runoffgroove. I like it very much, really turns your PC soundcard into an amp, there's also an option to switch to Marshall amp response. Quite easy to build, easy-to-find components, mine worked at first try (after I inserted the IC into the socket, that was 15 mins after I started debuggin it    )

just a thought. i designed (with other members help and advice)a simple distortion which you may be interested in building!...on vero board..nice and easy...
its only a few parts to build it..but it kicks ass....heres the thread link ok..i have put sounclips and video demo of it so you can hear it ok.

Here is the switch, the blue with pink top in the corner. The complete upper side moving. Originaly it was a foot switch in the factory, where I work.

The big black plastic box was designed by Philips about 1975. Very nice bass response. Ideal for televisions...

i like it....i made an amp out of some old pc speakers and a sub woofer...it was well bassy too...

i gave it away in the end...but it was a good project..no pics sorry!..

What is the secret of J201?

Search this forum and you will find a lot of information about the J201.
The simplest explanation is, the gate turn-on voltage is low, which helps it amplify easier than many other JFET transistors.
The full reason is much more complicated, but that is where it starts.
