Hi All,

I am new here and to building, son please excuse my question.

I have completed builds of the General Guitar Gadgets ITS8 and the SBB, and they both work fine. However, if I try to drive the ITS8 with the SBB, I only get a signal to the amp if the ITS8 is switched off, and vice versa.  Whichever the trailing pedal is, when I turn it on, the LED does not light up, as if no input cable is plugged in.

What am I missing?

Thanks!
Robin.

Hey Robin,
As it happens I was looking at the SBB today.
Hmm.....
Both circuits are negative ground.
The problem you describe with the LED not lighting,
I think it's time for a gut shot.
Please take a well lit photo of your wiring- 3PDT and jacks.
Post it here as soon as you get a chance.
In the meantime, Beavis Audio has an excellent tutorial on stompbox wiring
check it out, it might be just what your looking for.......

Good luck.

Hi,

I don't think there is a problem with the wiring in each individual stompbox. They both work perfectly independently, it's just when I hook them
Together that I have problems. As the wiring is set up to not turn the box until an input is inserted, I assume it is something to do with that

Thanks,

Robin

You are using 0 stereo TRS plugs on the cables ?
Measure some voltages or even just the continuity following through the voltage paths.
Test for short, V+ to ground.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I found the problem based on the post above. I was using TRS Cables to connect the boxes. I switched to TS cables, and both boxes are working fine in series now.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks,
Robin.
