I have noticed some problems with some of my pedals. OCD I built for a friend, crunchbox and a bsiab 2 start oscilating when gain knob is turned past some point, and that happens when they are on bypass! I tried using shielded wire for input jack but it helped just a little bit. I am using millenium bypass on that  pedals. What do you guys sugest? Would using 3pdt switch help? Or using 3pdt swich as dpdt and use the remaining part for grounding the output of the circuit when on bypas?

The oscillation occurs due to the capacity between the switch contacts. To reduce its effect on the hi-gain input shunt the input with the 100-500 pF capacitor (just "after" the switch contact).

You'd probably get the same squeal if you had the effect engaged and then uplugged your guitar cord - high-gainers often don't like having an unconnected input and the oscillation gets picked up by the bypass path like interference. Wire up your stomp switch so that the effect input is grounded when in bypass.

how would you recommend that ca cat does that though? do you think his suggestion of replacing with a 3pdt to latch the millennium bypass and ground the circuit input is the right path?

If switching to a 3PDT, use Tonepad's "Offboard Wiring 5" diagram from the document below and forget about the Millenium altogether - I though the whole point of the Milennium was for when you had no 3PDTs available but if you can get your hands on the switches then they can be used for grounded input + LED arrangements.

If you want to stick with DPDTs, R.G. has the answer: http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/mill2extn/mil2plus.htm
