Take apart a 1-Spot?

Anyone try and take one these apart?

The cord on mine pulled away from the stress relief do-hickey and I have bare wire showing. It is also shorting out. Can I take it apart and shorten the wires and make it all good again?

I personally wouldn't want to do ANYTHING inside a SMPS in case I reassembled with a short somewhere before the short protection and started a fire.


they're not that expensive...

Visual Sound has great customer service- I'd give them a call.  You might be able to get a replacement.

The voltages involved are, as with most PSUs, potentially fatal.
