Switching problem

I'm trying to set up a box that has two switches. One is your standard latching stomp switch, the other is a momentary stomp type switch.

I want the first switch to switch the effect in and out in the standard way. I want the second switch to turn the effect on or off while it's depressed. The effect would by that when the first switch switched the effect on the second would momentarily switch the effect off when depressed. If the first switch were in the bypass mode, the second switch would switch the effect on while it was depressed.

I have a drawing I'll post later, that looks like it would work. But, in my set up the input is always tired to the input of the effect. Which is maybe less than ideal. I thought I'd ask around here if anyone had solved this problem already.

Get the schematic of the Boss FS-6 (or just buy one yourself).  It does exactly that.

Is your current setup something like this?

EDIT: Doesn't bypass... lemme rethink this one

EDIT II: Fixed!  ;D

Fxi is to the board, Fxo is from the board

Mine's better!  :icon_lol:

Any differences between the two?

Good thinking Phector. Looks like that works. This is better than what I had come up with. Which had the input always tied to the input of the effect.

Here's a drawing done in Eagle. The two switches on the left are part of a DPDT momentary switch. While the three switches on the right are part of one of those standard 3PDT.

Just realized (as others probably have) that my suggestion of the Boss FS is not what is needed here.  You need a loop switcher!.  I tried to delete it, but can't now.  Wouldn't just a common schematic for a dual TB loop switcher work, by replacing the second switch with a momentary switch, or am I misunderstanding this again?.  There are many diagrams for dual switchers out there.

Not sure, the loop switcher might work. My idea was that the momentary switch would switch the effect in when the main switch was in bypass and do the opposite when the main switch is engaged.

I get it now, you're right a simple looper isn't the answer.  I missed that point when I read it the first time.  I guess others are of much more help on this one!.
