face melting high end overdrive?

Been playing around with a few vintage overdrives like the DOD 250, but am really after one of those uba high end lower gain overdrive for that face melting, poodle rock, Hair metal hi pitched solos!

any recommendations?

Got any Band Examples for your favoured kind of Hair Metal?

Off the top off my head and covering a wide spectrum - Crowther Hot Cake, BOSS DS-1, Ibanez SD-9, Proco Rat, Dallas Rangemaster Could be good to boost another Overdrive or just on its own... really depends.

You could always build a Double D from ROG.

The "bounce" channel seems to have all the face-melting 80's cheese you could ever want. Here's a clip of the bounce channel from the ROG site: http://www.runoffgroove.com/bounce.mp3

The BSIAB would be more versatile though since you could back down the gain and get some good dirty blues tones out of it, but I'm not sure if it squeals quite like the Double D does (never built one)

These are things i'd class more as distortions than overdrives, if that's allowed I have some better reccomendations...

yeah definately a distortion...im not really into overdrives anyway...they dont go with my tight trousers..

ILL go for SANSAMP! very versatile! I use it for hair metal stuff !
