Using a SPDT Switch to wire diode/LED clipping?

Hey guys, I just got back from the electronics store...

Im trying to wire up a mini toggle switch to switch between diode and LED clipping in the 250 clone im building...

Now. I'm new at this. So please dont laugh.

I wanted an ON/ON format (didnt want the diode lift boost)

So i got this little toggle switch with 3 lugs on the back. I dont know how to wire this circuit!

I'm looking at the 'landgraff' mod to the DOD 250 Where you wire a switch up and switch between 2 diodes and 2 LEDs for clipping...

How would I use this switch in the circuit!?

Thanks...

You might have some problems with an SPDT, you will probably need a DPDT.

If the SPDT works then it would be wired up like this:
Terminal 1: + of 1 Diode and the - of the other
Terminal 2: Output of 10k resistor after opamp and 100k volume pot
Terminal 3: + of 1 LED and the - of the other

Then the other ends of the Diodes and LEDs connected to ground.

If not then the DPDT would be have the first 3 terminals wired as the SPDT with terminals 4 5 and 6 wired as follows
Terminal 4: Other ends of Diodes
Terminal 5: GND
Terminal 6: Other ends of LEDs

where the DPDT terminals are arranged:
1 4
2 5
3 6

there are only 3 lugs though... how could i wire up both ends of the diodes and leds? etc.

Surely there's enough room on one of those lugs if you twist together the leads of the diodes/LEDs.

thanks a lot man! i'm a total newbie. what do you mean the middle lug being 10k after resistor/potentiometer? would i wire jumpers to these? im confused haha

diminishedlogic

and what did you mean the other ends of the diodes/leds wired to ground? if they're soldered to lugs 1/3?

thanks for everything man. youve really spoonfed me i know...

bare with me though?

so you would wire both the diodes and leds the same way positive end on the lug negative end going to ground.

You would do the LED/Diodes grounded separately right?

Should I ground them to the top of a potentiometer?

Then i see for the middle lug you wire the 10k resistor after the 10uf capacitor to the middle then you wire it to ground and jumper the potentiometer??? i'm still unclear on this.

I'm sorry I'm just lost... maybe I should just get the DPDT because I may mess up all your good advice... ;(

NOPE. If you check the diagram, They're in opposite directions.

I would. It means when the Diodes are being used for clipping the LEDs are completely disconnected and vica versa.

Where ever the the rest of the grounds are connected.

Using either switch Lug 2 is connected to the 10k resistor AND the first terminal of the 100k pot.

I'm still really confused so i'm just going to get a DPDT switch and follow the simple layout on BYOC.
