Hey Guys, What wire should I be using for my stompboxes?

i just wired 2 ts jacks up together (so nothing inbetween) and there was an easy 10x increase in noise and humming. I take it the generic hookup wire from dick smith is the cause of this? can anyone confirm this for me please?

and if so, what should i be using? :) Cheers

i also forgot to add that the jacks are in an aluminium tu1410 and im wondering if my test is flawed since the wire is about 25cm long?

i'd run some tests on the circuit connections.
Never had any troubles with good wire, if it looks good and works good, it is good, that wire looks good from here.
