Hi,

Are there through-hole sockets available that will take an SOIC-16 surface mount chip? If so, what are they called? I couldn't find anything like this at Mouser, but its probably because I don't know what to search for.

Thanks.

I don't know about sockets but you can get adapter boards to convert SOIC to DIP, then you can plug these into standard DIP sockets. Google "soic to dip"

Search Mouser for "soic/dip" to get a list of them.
The 16P one is part number 16-350000-10
