I never understood the pros/cons of phenolic vs epoxy other than phenolic is significantly cheaper.

Phenolic is much more breakable!

after cutting any phenolic, I only itch for a day or so. when I cut glass epoxy, the itch lasts much longer.

phenolic is more water absorbent, or absorbs more atmospheric moisture, possibly the same thing. this makes the resistance of the phenolic somewhat less than that of the less hygroscopic glass/fibre/epoxy.

and it cracks easier than epoxy. I can smell the phenolic on my hands after cutting it, too. P-U!
