Can you use metal film caps that are not polarized, but are the same value to replace electrolytic caps that are?

MartyMart

Yes if they are signal bypass caps, such as from a fet or BJT to ground or blocking caps at the input to a circuit etc.
No if they are power supply caps from V+ to ground or 1/2 V to ground ( unless you want to add a parallel 0,1uf non polarized cap along with an electro cap )

If you've got room for them.
