Mod Kits DIY ?

Has anybody tried out one of these kits?
They have The Rattler (distortion) and The Piledriver (clean boost) and some others that use tubes...
They look interesting but reviews say some parts are cheap junk (pots, jacks)

I was more interested in their amp kits than the pedal kits having just googled them. Also, they have oil caps that look cool.
