need help finding diodes

Ok, so for the loco box project I need some silicon diodes, the forward voltages measure .58.  I also need some selenium diodes (hopefully) they measure .98.  Can any one suggest some that may work in these applications?

Use any silicon diode (1N4148, 1N914, etc.) - I doubt the designer selected diodes specifically to clip at 0.58V.

I also need some selenium diodes (hopefully) they measure .98.

Infra-red LEDs clip at about 1 volt.
