Don't forget the TDA chip amps they have insane prices on those.
I ordered a big lot of bits and pieces from them about this time last year ,it took a month to arrive but nothing was missing or damaged.

Hey, what do ya'll think of those green caps they sell? Any good?

They're of a range of pin spacings depending on vale, but v. cheap for film caps.

Cheap for the electrolytics too. $0.03 for 100uf 25v

In addition, the values 0.1u and above are pretty large physically.  0.22u and 0.47u are definitely too large for the typical layout sizes seen around.  If you're doing your own layouts or just bread boarding, that's not a big deal.  I'm thinking I'm going to source some reasonably priced/sized box caps for these sizes.

I don't really have a stock pile of caps and resistors. I think I'm going to take advantage of this and get a bit of a pile going. What are some common values you guys see in DIY projects? I've only built a couple so I don't really know. I guess I would have to double them since they would be for bass mostly. I already know 100uf is a good value for power filtering.

Ok, cool. I'll have to watch the pin spacing, but ya'll are right on the price. If anything they would be great for prototypes and bread boarding. I'm going to order some with the coupon.

This has been discussed around here a few times, have a search, and check the wiki too. In the meantime, there's this:

Bookmarked! That's a pretty nice chart! I love quantifying stuff visually!

I was about to order those caps, so just to clarify; 0.1u,0.22u and 0.47u are too big and all the others can vary in pitch, any others to watch out for?
I knew there was a reason I couldn't find any sizes for them!

I ordered every film and ceramic cap in the E12 series they have.  I'll take pics of the film caps when I get home and post some basic dimensional data.

The ones I got last year were really small ...
I ordered up to 220uf and a couple larger and from .1 to 100uf they were all the same size, about the same as the mini electros from Nichicon.
They must have changed the type or brand since then.

Ok, here's the data I took.  I think it's enough to see what kinda size differences to expect from their film caps.  Not huge, but larger than most layouts allow for.  But at 3 cents each, I'm not complaining.

Measurements in millimeters so it's easier to compare to box caps.  Rounded up to the nearest 0.1 mm.

Code  Value  T      W     H      LS
103    0.010  3.8   5.8   10.1  4.0
473    0.047  4.5   8.4   11.1  6.4
104    0.100  5.1   9.5   11.7  7.4
224    0.220  7.4  12.2  13.3  8.3
474    0.470  6.7  13.0  14.8  10.0

Cool, man! The lead spacing really isn't that bad with these.

Edit: Well, I guess .22 & .47 are pretty wide, but still not too bad.

Hi there!

This Friday Tayda Electronics are going to send out a discount coupon...

be patient!  :D

they told me it'll send out on Friday, and they ask me to remind it to them  ;) I'm looking just now at the "world time table" to understand which is a suitable time here in Italy to send an email in Thailand's office time!  :D

Very cool defaced, thanks for making that effort.

No problem.  If I get board, I'd like to make an Eagle library for these or see if they match a library that's already in there.  But that comes after the whole replace the water heater and possibly boiler thing in my house.  Oh the joys of home ownership.
