     Can anyone recommend a simple and effective audio oscillator for guitar effects?

Could you be a bit more specific?

Does it have to be a sine, square, triangle or maybe a sawtooth wave generator? Are you going to use it for audible tones or is it a low frequency oscillator? Analog or maybe digital? There are many options .
